Nashville, TN (WKRN)- It’s a done deal! On Thursday afternoon, the Metro Sports Authority voted unanimously to keep the Nashville Predators playing at Bridgestone Arena for the next 30 years.
This is great news for everyone involved, as this new agreement relieves taxpayers of any financial obligation related to the arena. The Predators also announced they are planning $350 million in renovations and maintenance to Bridgestone Arena over the next 20 years.
Nashville’s Mayor, David Briley had this to say about the new deal on Thursday:
“Nashville’s passionate, committed and very loud hockey fans will continue to make Smashville the best place to watch an NHL game for many years to come!”
The Predators also have “creative control” over their home, meaning they can continue to expand their brand, so don’t be surprised to see Bridgestone become and even better place for hockey fans in years to come.
